Zeolite rotor-concentration system

A rotor concentrator does not, in itself, purify VOCs, but it is instead a step prior to combustion,   which is necessary in the case of high air flow rates with a very low concentration of VOCs. The use of this technology helps to reduce the fuel used for combustion, which under these conditions would be very high otherwise.

A rotor concentrator consists of a zeolite-filled wheel that absorbs VOCs form incoming air and releases purified air. A small amount of purified air is passed through in counter-current direction in order to release some of the COVs absorbed by zeolites. In this way, the air flow rate is reduced 10 times as compared with the initial flow rate, with a concentration 10 times higher.

The most frequent roto-concentrator and post-burner combinations, are the following:

  • Roto-concentrator + regenerative thermal burner.
  • Roto-concentrator + recuperative thermal burner.
  • Roto-concentrator + catalytic burner.
